Dear Friends,

I wish you could meet Bishop Ben Egbujor (www.jubileechristiancentre.org). In 1990, while pastoring, God burdened him with taking the gospel and humanitarian relief to his homeland in West-Central Africa. It’s estimated that 65 million orphans are left behind due to HIV/AIDs, malnutrition, malaria, and diabetes in Africa. With no money or resources, but with many prayers and a few Christian friends, the work began. Manna Children’s Home was established, which now shelters more than 45 orphans. It has an attached clinic, which awaits much needed medical equipment, supplies, medicines, and angels of mercy to visit in medical teams. A Christian School, with approximately 300 in attendance, also came about.

We met Bishop Ben when seeking support through a network of churches. We were blessed to have him stay in our home. During these home visits, we learned the details of his mission and his work conditions. Our desire to help was birthed with a need to “see it for myself” as I did in Bulgaria.

In 2006, I spent more than two grueling weeks with Bishop Ben in Nigeria. Sweltering heat! No air conditioning! There are no words I can bring to convey the deplorable conditions I witnessed in this disease-infested and crime-riddled land. People posses nothing – but a struggle for survival! I can’t forget seeing the attempts to bathe and launder in the polluted waters of open sewerage systems – and the severe poverty and sickness everywhere. Nowhere were the things I took for granted here at home. My clothes I left behind were priceless.

My wife and I support Manna Children’s Home. We purchased land in Africa to plant pineapples and raise hogs in an effort to help the orphanage sustain itself, drilled a few wells for fresh clean water, and sponsored the successful surgery of a young man with a large and life-threatened growth to his jaw that was closing off his throat. It haunts me to think of the nine-year-old boy named Charlie with the maggot-infested knee – he died because of lack of medical attention.

The needs are vast! Help is needed to bring the gospel to those who remain spiritually depleted and provide necessities for survival. More wells have to be drilled, Manna Children’s Home needs to be expanded, as babies have to be turned down because there is “no more room.”

We are asking you to join us in prayer and to share your blessings in projects of hope and relief for a very precious people. I assure you that all donations will go directly to these specific needs. No gifts are considered small. You will receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donations. Please make checks payable to: “I Am” World Mission.

Thank you for prayerfully considering our burden.
Sincerely in Him,

Roy Wanta
Project Director
