Widows
Currently our vision is to help widows, their children and orphans.
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”.
“I Am” wants to start to reduce the suffering of the widows and their children. Tradition and culture, victimize, oppress, intimidates and is very brutal in Africa towards widows. Possessions have been wrongfully been taken away from them, when their husband dies. We need to assist them in whatever way possible, to try to ensure a better way of living. We are constantly reminded about the hardship and suffering, one room, no doors or windows for a woman of one to seven children in a 10 foot by 12 foot room and no bed. We try to provide food for them with the help of our partners. We urgently need your help to continue. Most of them can not send their children to school. The continent of Africa has more widows and orphans than any continent. Thousands of women are widows. The average widow cares for at least 4 children and commonly additional orphans. Widows are the outcast and some with no income to meet their basic needs for their children and themselves. You can’t send children to school without proper supplies and clothing. Without an education there is no hope for tomorrow. With supporters like you, we want to act in obedience and compassion, by providing supplemental care, (food, clothing, rent money, school fees and uniforms). We need to respond to the need of the widows by building a family home with one widow and 5 orphans in each home or by renting a place for about $50 a month to live now, without being kicked out on the street with her children. This is the state of these widows presently with no where to go.
